A new boutique coffee shop is set to open in downtown St. Petersburg at the base of The Nolen condominium building, located at 126 4th Avenue Northeast.

The building’s developer, DDA Development, has announced an agreement to sell its ground-level retail space to Savage Coffees, a renowned family-operated coffee producer and roastery from the Republic of Panama. The company operates a roastery at 2756 25th Street North in St. Pete.

This café will mark Savage Coffees’ first retail location in the United States and is scheduled to open in 2025. Ellison Construction, the general contractor building The Nolen, will also build out the interior of Savage Coffees.

“It is with great pleasure that I’m able to announce the first Savage Coffees café, located in downtown St. Petersburg at The Nolen, one of the city’s newest and most exclusive residential buildings. Sharing our fine coffees with the St. Pete community is something we’ve been eager to do, and The Nolen is the perfect location,” said Savage Coffees Founder Jamison Savage.

Founded in 2016 by Jamison and Leslie Savage, Savage Coffees has achieved global acclaim for its exceptional Geisha coffee, an exotic variety grown on their award-winning farm, Finca Deborah.

The company is celebrated for its dedication to innovation and excellence. Jamison Savage was the first to commercially implement Carbonic Maceration in coffee processing, a groundbreaking method that has transformed the industry.

Construction on The Nolen began in October 2022 and is expected to be completed by early 2025. This boutique residential building features 31 units, with only one still available for purchase.

“Our goal with The Nolen has been to incorporate elements of wellness, sustainability, and community into every aspect of the project,” said Bowen Arnold, Principal of DDA Development. “Savage Coffees aligns perfectly with our vision, offering an upscale, community-centered brand that complements both our residents and the neighborhood.”

In addition to DDA Development and Backstreets Capital, other partners on the development team include Tim Clemmons of PLACE ArchitectureMelissa Kelly Design Studio who designed the interiors, Amber Brinkley at Kippen Communications who is handling public relations, and Clear ph who is responsible for the website and branding.
