St. Pete Rising was created in May of 2013 with the goal of delivering the latest urban development news in Downtown St. Petersburg. By connecting you with the latest updates on real estate, retail, and restaurant developments, we hope you will spread the word about why Downtown St. Pete is the greatest place to be. As a city on the rise, we hope you enjoy watching Downtown St. Pete grow as much as we do.
St. Pete Rising is the only major news source covering St. Pete real estate that doesn’t answer to a parent company. We are fully independent and locally owned.

I created St. Pete Rising because I think our city is an incredible place with stories that deserve to be shared. Growing up in Tampa Bay I always loved downtown. After graduating from the University of Florida in Gainesville, I moved back to St. Pete and now live downtown. In my spare time you can find me exploring downtown or hanging at a coffee shop.

I live in the heart of Downtown St. Pete and love going to all of the local markets (Saturday Morning Market, Indie Market, etc.), eating at the fantastic downtown restaurants and imbibing on the locally brewed beer. My favorite place in Downtown St. Pete is the historic shuffleboard courts during Friday night’s St. Pete Shuffle. When I’m not writing for St. Pete Rising, I work as a consulting actuary at Wakely Actuarial in Palm Harbor, FL.
