Golfology virtual golf lounge teeing up plans for St. Pete
/Golfers and wannabe golfers looking to work on their game without going outside will soon have a new destination in St. Pete. Golfology, a high-tech indoor golf experience, is coming this fall to the Warehouse Arts District.
Golfology will be equipped with six golf simulators, a custom interactive putting green, and various practice stations in a sprawling, 5,800-square-foot space at 2400 5th Avenue South.
“We are so proud to be part of St. Petersburg and our commitment to grow within and with the community is a top priority,” states Golfology’s website. “Not only do we offer a welcoming and affordable golf destination for St. Pete residents, we will also partner with local business and school programs to bring people together through the love of golf.”
The immersive simulators at Golfology will be from Trackman, one of the most advanced golf simulators available today and the same brand that Donald Trump allegedly had installed at the White House during his presidency. Each simulator carries a price tag of around $45,000.
Golfers at Golfology will have access to over 240 courses from around the world, including Pebble Beach and St. Andrews, without having to endure the outdoor elements or wait for a tee time.
“The Trackman technology uses drone mapping to render courses in the most extraordinary detail with incredibly high-definition graphics,” states the Trackman website. “We created 3D maps with bunkers, fairways, and greens that are as life-like as is possible in our relentless drive for perfection.”
The simulator’s Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking (OERT) gives unbelievably precise data on their game. Any metric you’d ever want to track, such as spin loft, ball speed, launch abgle, spin rate, and max height are all measured.
As well as catering to the golf professionals, the Trackman software has games that are perfect for family and friends. Some of the available games include Bullseye, Closest to the Pin, Hit it! and Capture the Flag.
The simulators at Golfology will be rented by the hour. Pricing is not yet available.
Demand for golf simulators in the United States has exploded in recent years due to accessibility, convenience, realistic experiences, practice opportunities, entertainment, and potential cost savings. A recent report valued the golf simulator market at $1.3 billion in 2021 and is projected to reach $3.3 billion by 2030.
So, whether you're an experienced golfer looking to hone your skills or a beginner seeking a convenient way to enjoy golf, Golfology will have what you are looking for when it opens this fall in the Warehouse Arts District.
