Construction continues on Castille Urbana, a 40-unit condo building on 3rd Avenue South

THE FIVE-STORY BUILDING A WILL FEATURE 40 CONDOMINIUMS WITH FOUR RESIDENTIAL FLOORS ATOP A PARKING GARAGE | NJR CONSTRUCTION GROUP

The Castille Urbana condominium building, which is under construction at 600 3rd Avenue South, is beginning to take shape.

After completing the building’s podium and parking deck in 2023, vertical construction resumed in mid-January with crews starting on second-floor exterior block work.  

CASTILLE URBANA IS LOCATED ON THE SAME BLOCK AS DOMUS URBANA, WHICH WAS COMPLETED EARLIER THIS YEAR.

When complete, the five-story building in downtown St. Petersburg will feature 40 condominiums with two- and three-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 1,158 to 1,650 square feet.

Castille Urbana is positioned just 150 feet to the east of the previously completed and sold-out Domus Urbana. NJR Construction Group is the developer of both properties.  

“The vertical rise of Castille Urbana marks a significant progression in downtown St. Petersburg’s urban development,” NJR Construction Group Senior Project Manager Adam Willson stated in a news release. “We’re excited to contribute to the community’s evolution with Castille Urbana.” 

Five floor plans will be available to Castille Urbana buyers. Each residence will feature modern aesthetics but also emphasize practicality. Kitchens will be equipped with equipped with premium stainless steel Bosch appliances and elegant quartz countertops, while the living areas will have 8-foot sunlit windows and hardwood floors.

Other amenities include a pet relief area and pet-washing station, as well as covered parking, a community room, fitness center, and electric car charging stations. The residences are expected to be priced starting in the low $700,000s, significantly less than many other new downtown condos.

“With Castille Urbana, we’re committed to enhancing the downtown St. Pete living experience,” NJR Construction Group President Neil Rauenhorst stated in the release. “Our goal is to create vibrant, elegant living spaces, a vision shared with Domus Urbana at about 60 percent of the cost of similar spaces in the nearby high rises.”

The Castille Urbana project was first announced in late 2021. By the time the project broke ground in May 2023, more than 25 percent of its residential units were already under contract.

The building is expected to be ready for move-ins later this year.
