A long-awaited coastal cafe paying homage to the Sunshine City's history will debut at the St. Pete Pier this weekend.

Perry’s Porch will have a soft opening on Saturday, February 8th at 335 2nd Avenue NE near the entrance of the Pier and adjacent to the St. Petersburg Museum of History. The new cafe is replacing the craft beer bar Hops and Props which closed in 2021.

An official grand opening will be held on Wednesday, February 12th.

Perry’s Porch is being brought to life by Seed & Feed Hospitality, which also owns the popular Mandarin Hide cocktail bar, Trophy Fish seafood restaurant, and the 60-year-old El Cap burger joint.

Designed by St. Pete-based Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Perry’s Porch is more than just a restaurant—it is a tribute to the vision of C. Perry Snell, an early 1900s developer who envisioned a beautiful, walkable, park-filled waterfront for St. Pete.

Snell’s spectacular Mediterranean Revival-styled homes helped create the North Shore, Old Northeast, Snell Isle, and Granada Terrace neighborhoods. His 1925 masterpiece, the Snell Arcade, remains in the heart of downtown St. Pete today at the corner of 4th Street and Central Avenue.

Inspired by his passion for timeless design and community gathering spaces, Perry’s Porch blends history, hospitality, and an elevated dining experience in a way that feels both classic and fresh, according to the Seed & Feed Hospitality Group's opening announcement.

In the morning, the cafe will operate a coffee shop featuring locally-roasted Kahwa Coffee and an ice cream cart serving house-made ice cream and gelato.

Perry's Porch contains 150 seats, mostly along the Pier approach and the St. Pete waterfront, allowing guests to take in city skyline and waterfront views while enjoying a curated menu of fresh coastal Florida fare with a touch of Italian flavor.

“C. Perry Snell’s dream was to bring the Italian lifestyle and design to St. Pete,” said Ryan Griffin, co-owner of Seed & Feed Hospitality Group. “So we’ve included some Italian dishes on the menu as an homage to his vision.”

The lunch and dinner offerings at Perry’s Porch include Italian sandwiches, pasta, and salads with items like Bucatini in a bolognese sauce with baby tomatoes, torn burrata, and basil; Snapper Paillard served with a romesco sauce, crispy maiitake mushrooms, fregola salad, greens, and citrus; and a Pork Chop on a bed of cauliflower puree, bean succotash, and caramelized peach miso butter.

The cafe will also carry draft and bottled beer, as well as an extensive wine list. A wine locker program will launch in the coming months.

Also in the near future, the cafe will introduce picnic baskets, allowing diners to take sandwiches, snacks, and more onto the Pier.

“As lifelong residents of St. Pete, we’re proud to contribute to the city’s continued growth and vibrancy with Perry’s Porch,” said Ryan Griffin. “The St. Pete Pier is an iconic location, and we’re honored to be part of its story.”

Blake Thompson, co-owner behind the project, also stated, “Perry’s Porch is about bringing people together to enjoy great food, amazing cocktails, and the beautiful surroundings of the Pier. We’ve poured our passion into every detail, from the menu to the personalized hospitality and thoughtful touches that set this space apart.”
