Kaia Bowls to bring acai and poke bowls to Beach Drive in downtown St. Pete
/A new café serving acai and poke bowls is coming to 30 Beach Drive Northeast in downtown St. Pete. Clearwater-based Kaia Bowls is opening a location in the former Naples Soap Company space, bringing a fresh and healthy dining option closer to St. Pete’s waterfront.
The café is owned by the Ancuta family, who hail from Canada, and first discovered Pinellas County in 2013. After traveling the world for both business and pleasure, the family decided to make Clearwater their second home.
During a 2021 trip to the area, Marc and Cristina Ancuta along with their daughter Beverly and her husband Ben, stumbled upon the Kaia Bowls cafe and loved it so much they purchased the business.
Kaia Bowls currently has two locations: one on Clearwater Beach and another across from Clearwater’s Countryside Mall. Their 953-square-foot Beach Drive location in downtown St. Pete will be the café’s third location.
Kaia Bowls specializes in serving nutritious acai bowls, as well as other fruit bowls, which have gained popularity over the past few years among health-conscious consumers.
The menu offers a wide range of bases, from the classic acai base to the more unique bases such as pitaya (or dragon fruit), coconut, spirulina, and kale.
Kaia Bowl’s Purple Passion acai bowl includes their signature pure acai base topped with banana, pineapple, kiwi, coconut flakes, granola, and honey.
The Hella Berry starts with their pitaya base and is topped with blueberry, strawberry, raw cacao nibs, coconut flakes, and hemp seeds.
The café also serves avocado toast, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices.
For a heartier meal, you can grab one of their poke bowls which feature ahi tuna, fresh salmon, shrimp, or chicken. You can choose one of Kaia’s signature poke bowls or build your own.
One of the most popular signature poke bowls is the “Ono” which consists of traditional ahi tuna, nori (seaweed salad), avocado, grape tomato, cucumber, pickled onion, candy cane beets, black sesame seeds, crispy shallots, watercress, and is topped with a Hawaiian ponzu sauce.
Kaia Bowls hopes to debut later this year at 30 Beach Drive in downtown St. Pete. For more information, visit Kaia Bowls’ website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
