The Blend Coffee & Cocktails to open new cafe on 16th Street in Magnolia Heights
/Listen up coffee enthusiasts! Soon there will be another place in town to get your caffeine fix. And it’s coming from a company that has taken the St. Pete coffee scene by storm in recent years.
The Blend Coffee & Cocktails is planning a new location at 3001 16th Street North in St. Petersburg, expanding its unique concept of combining specialty coffee and creative cocktails.
The location is in the Magnolia Heights neighborhood at the northeast corner of 16th Street and 30th Avenue North in a building that was previously home to the 4 Body Fit Institute.
Ever since The Blend opened its first location in 2019, the coffee company has been in all-out expansion mode. The new St. Petersburg location will be The Blend’s sixth location.
The café’s other locations are situated at 1211 4th Street North in the Old Northeast, 2760 34th Street North in St. Pete’s Disston Heights neighborhood, and 6730 Central Avenue in west St. Pete.
The Blend also has a location in Tampa and debuted a Palmetto outpost last week.
The Blend was launched by Stacha Madsen and her daughter Nichole Richardson. Madsen began her coffee career in her hometown of Seattle, Washington, where she operated a coffee stand, also called The Blend, in one of the nation’s coffee capitals.
Florida’s sunshine and beaches brought Madsen to St. Pete and she’s been hard at work ever since growing her coffee empire.
The Blend’s coffee offerings include the traditional drip coffee, iced coffee, and cold brew in addition to a wide variety of espresso-based beverages, such as lattes, americanos, macchiatos, and mochas. Over 25 flavoring syrups are also available.
Toppings include caramel, chocolate pumpkin, cinnamon, sea salt, vanilla cold foam, whip cream.
Perhaps one of the most popular (and Instagramable) options The Blend offers is its seasonal coffee flights, which feature four unique coffee combinations with toppings and syrups.
The café is currently doing a fall-inspired coffee flight that includes Cold Brew Pumpkin Cold Foam, Pumpkin iced coffee, Peach Cobbler iced coffee, and Caramel Peacan iced coffee. The fall-themed fight is currently available at all locations.
In addition to coffee and espresso, The Blend’s 16th Street location will feature beer, wine, and cocktails as well as a menu of smoothies, teas, Italian sodas, pastries, and all-day breakfast sandwiches served on a bagel or croissant.
Like The Blend’s other cafe locations, the interior design of the 16th Street location will be designed to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere with ample seating and a lot of natural light.
Whether you're a coffee lover, cocktail enthusiast, or looking for a welcoming space to unwind, The Blend Coffee & Cocktails aims to provide a unique experience at its new location on 16th Street North.
The Blend at 3001 16th Street North hopes to open by the end of the year.
