The Castille Urbana condominium building, which is under construction at 600 3rd Avenue South, is beginning to take shape.
After completing the building’s podium and parking deck in 2023, vertical construction resumed in mid-January with crews starting on second-floor exterior block work.
When complete, the five-story building in downtown St. Petersburg will feature 40 condominiums with two- and three-bedroom floor plans, ranging from 1,158 to 1,650 square feet.
A construction milestone has been reached on Castille Urbana, the latest project by NJR Investment & Development Company.

The developer has announced the completion of the building’s podium and says vertical construction will begin ahead of schedule. The one-story podium will contain the building’s parking garage and lobby area and will be topped by four floors of condominium residences.
NJR Construction Group has achieved a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of Castille Urbana, a mid-rise condominium building in Downtown St. Petersburg.
Located at 600 3rd Avenue South, Castille Urbana is positioned just 150 feet to the east of the previously completed and sold-out Domus Urbana, a sister project, which was also developed by NJR Construction Group.
Plans for Castille Urbana were announced by St. Pete Rising in December 2021 with reservations for the residences beginning in 2022.
Following the news of Domus Urbana’s sellout, NJR Companies has announced their next condo project: Castille Urbana.
On Tuesday, St Pete Rising exclusively reported that Domus Urbana, a 40-unit condominium development coming to 3rd Avenue South, has officially sold out. The five-story building launched sales last August and broke ground in early 2021.
“We like everything about the St. Petersburg market,” said Neil J. Rauenhorst, President and CEO of NJR Companies. “Downtown St. Pete is very walkable and extremely well laid out. For years, we’ve had parks, the water, and Beach Drive. Now you have the spine of Central Avenue which is populated with very nice shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues.”
The development team behind Castille Urbana, NJR Investment & Development Company, has completed vertical construction of the downtown St. Pete condominium building.
NJR, which is helmed by CEO and President Neil Rauenhorst, announced this week that the mid-rise 40-unit development at 600 3rd Avenue South is now more than 50% complete.
“We’re proud to be able to share the news that we’ve topped out on NJR’s latest downtown St.Petersburg project,” said Rauenhorst. “We are excited to bring more beautiful residences to the Downtown St. Pete area.”
