Wawa set to open its first Florida drive-thru restaurant in Largo
Wawa, the popular convenience store and foodservice chain, is all set to open its first-ever drive-thru restaurant in Florida.
The City of Largo recently issued a Development Order (DO) to authorize the redevelopment of a property at 2530 East Bay Drive, formerly home to a Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Wawa, founded in 1964 in Folsom, Pennsylvania, is well-known for its freshly prepared sandwiches, hoagies, and a variety of beverages, including their signature coffee blends. With over 1,000 locations across multiple states, the chain has built a loyal customer base and a strong presence in the Northeastern United States.
The Development Order allows for the demolition of an existing vacant drive-thru restaurant and the construction of a new 2,036 sq. ft. Wawa drive-thru restaurant without fuel dispensing services. The focus of this standalone drive-thru will be to provide convenient access to Wawa's popular menu items.
As the project progresses, the official opening date for the Wawa drive-thru in Largo will be announced, much to the excitement of local residents and Wawa enthusiasts.
The drive-thru concept is expected to cater to busy commuters and offer a convenient dining experience for customers on the go.
The new drive-thru restaurant is part of Wawa's expansion efforts into new markets. With the City of Largo's approval, the drive-thru is poised to become a favorite destination for residents seeking quick, delicious meals from the beloved brand.
