Rooftop bar Cane & Barrel opens in downtown St. Pete’s AC Hotel

Cane & Barrel, downtown St. Petersburg’s newest rooftop bar and cocktail lounge, is now open atop the 172-key AC Hotel by Marriott at 110 2nd Street North.
Located on the eighth floor of the hotel, Cane & Barrel’s décor features a Cuban heritage theme created by California-based Ellis Adams Group. It has a 1,000-square-foot interior lounge and bar along in addition to a 1,900-square-foot rooftop terrace, which includes a second bar.
Cane & Barrel is connected to Ascent St. Pete, a 36-story, $117 million hotel and apartment tower developed and built by Greystar Real Estate Partners.
The hotel was recently sold to OTO Development, which will also be managing the property.
THE ROOFTOP BAR IS LOCATED IN THE BASE OF ASCENT ST. PETERSBURG, A 36-STORY APARTMENT AND HOTEL BUILDING, CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT 110 2ND AVENUE NORTH.
“Nestled on the rooftop of AC Hotel St. Petersburg, Cane & Barrel captures the colorful energy of Havana nights with an emphasis on all things rum,” the website reads. “Indulge in the Cuban-inspired menu whilst seated within the interior lounge or out on the open-air terrace.”
THE BAR is INSPIRED BY CUBAN HERITAGE AND IS DESIGNED WITH THE FLORA AND FAUNA OF FLORIDA IN MIND.
The Cane & Barrel beverage menu consists of eight signature cocktails and four craft cocktails. Draft beer from Green Bench Brewing and 3 Daughters Brewing is also available, along with a selection of domestic and international bottled beers.
The cocktails range in price from $15 to $17, while the beers cost between $6 and $8. A tableside punch bowl is available for $35 and features a different flavor of punch every week.
For wine enthusiasts, a variety of red, white, and sparkling wines can be purchased by the glass or bottle.
The robust food menu includes empanadas, croquettas, flatbreads and sandwiches, desserts, and appetizers such as crispy plantains, picadillo queso dip, and yucca fries. Prices range from $12 to $16.

Cane & Barrel can accommodate large group reservations, private parties, and even corporate events, and it has a comprehensive catering menu for event planners to consult. It also will offer live music.
Cane & Barrel is open from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, 11:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays, and 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sundays.
