Sales launch for Canvas City Homes in St. Pete's Warehouse Arts District
Sales have begun for Canvas City Homes, a new townhome community planned for St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District by Tampa-based Sight Development.
The 10-unit community, which was announced earlier this year, will be constructed on a vacant lot on the 2700 block of 5th Avenue South adjacent to First Mount Pilgrim Evangelical Missionary Baptist Church of Florida.
"Sight Development is excited to launch Canvas City Homes St Pete, a 10-unit project inspired by neighboring warehouse buildings that have been converted to artist workshops and studios,” says Chase Moore, Director of Sales & Marketing at Sight, previously told St. Pete Rising.
The community will offer two 3-bed/3.5-bath floor plans with either 2,040 or 2,070 square feet of open-concept living space and a two-car garage.
Each three-story home will feature finishes such as a polished concrete entry, oversized subway tile kitchen backsplash, quartz countertops in the kitchen and baths, dual vanity sinks in the primary baths, and Whirlpool stainless steel appliances. Unit upgrades are also available.
All homes will also contain a private yard and a second-floor balcony. Community green space will feature a sculpture designed by a local artist.
The project’s location will be near several creative anchors of the Warehouse Arts District, including The Factory, Fairgrounds, and ArtsXchange. The area has seen a resurgence of investment recently with many underutilized industrial buildings transitioning into artist galleries and studio space.
The city is also considering upzoning a portion of the Warehouse Arts District as part of their upcoming StPete2050 visioning plan. The changes could encourage more investment in the neighborhood as more businesses and residents move into the area.
Pricing for the homes at Canvas City Homes start at $650,000 and go up to $675,000, according to the initial pricing sheet.
Construction mobilization on the site is expected in 60 days. Peregrine Construction Group has been selected as the project’s general contractor. The development will take 16 to 18 months to construct, and completion is expected in late 2023 or early 2024.
