Local pet market St. PetersBARK to open second location in Grand Central District
Nearly seven years after opening a natural pet market on 9th Street North, the owner behind St. PetersBARK has signed a lease for a second location.
The new 2,300 square foot shop will be located at 3001 Central Avenue in the Grand Central District. Montana Massa of Vector Realty represented the landlord and Wendy Giffin of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant in the lease transaction.
The business started in 2014 when owner Krista Schmidt began making dog treats in her home and selling them at markets all around St. Pete. After some early success and positive feedback, Schmidt decided to open a pet market promoting healthy dogs and cats through holistic nutrition. In January 2015, St. PetersBARK opened their doors at 2435 9th Street North.
“We love that we've gotten the opportunity to grow in the St Pete community for the last seven years and look forward to our expansion into the Grand Central District,” said Schmidt. “It's humbling to earn the love and respect of this community every day so we are excited to bring St PetersBARK to another part of this city as well as meet a ton of new dogs.”
The new market will be filled to the brim with a much larger selection of inventory including hand-selected natural dog and cat food, treats, chews, toys, collars, leashes, grooming supplies, and more. Of course, you’ll also be able to find the treats that started it all – St. PetersBARK’s own brand of USA sourced, all-natural, dehydrated treats, made with love.
In addition to carrying over 2,000 different products, many of which are not available at big-box pet stores, the popular market will offer a variety of services such as monthly nail trims and quarterly dental cleanings.
Schmidt also wants to work on re-building St. PetersBARK’s dog training offerings as well as natural pet-related seminars from veterinarians.
“We are all about community and plan on hosting more events at this location as it is twice the size of our first location,” added Schmidt.
The new pet market will also have two doggy self-wash stations opening this summer.
On top of it all, St. PetersBARK is proud of their exceptional customer service. Whether it’s picking out food, fitting a harness, or answering any questions, every employee is trained and educated on all St. PetersBARK’s products and services.
After several months of buildout, St. PetersBARK’s second location is expected to debut in the spring at 3001 Central Avenue.
